Hi friends,
Spring is finally here! It’s the season of new life. Flowers blooming, bees buzzing, people asking for money, kids splashing in the mud. Wait, what? Yup, that’s right, I said the “m” word. No, not mud. Money.
New Hampshire Right to Life relies on the generous donations of people like you who believe in our mission “to foster respect for human life from the moment of fertilization to natural death and to promote the right to life as the paramount social issue through educational, legislative, political, and other forms of lawful activity, adhering to the Life Principles, as it relates to abortion, abortifacient contraception, in vitro fertilization, suicide, assisted suicide, euthanasia, and experimentation on the human genome.” However, we can’t fulfill our mission if we don’t have the financial resources to promote, educate, and activate respect for life through the three branches of our organization – the Committee, the Educational Trust Fund (ETF), and the Political Action Committee (PAC). Each branch has a specific role and is important to the mission of New Hampshire Right to Life.
Recently, I’ve been asked the question, “What is the money donated to __________ used for? So today, I’d like to answer that question.
The Committee is the backbone of NHRTL. It is the structure that holds the organization together. It consists of a board of 15 trustees and 3 alternate trustees. I am the President of the Committee. The Committee holds a monthly board meeting to discuss how to fulfill our mission by promoting NHRTL and using our presence in the state to promote and defend life. The Committee is responsible for the administrative costs of running this organization – paying for the rent of our office, web design, graphic design, digital media management, organizational and office supplies, mailings and communication with our membership (you), advertising, as well as helping to fund events in conjunction with the Educational Trust. This is only a handful of ways in which the Committee uses your donations. This year, we created a budget and looked at our expenses from previous years. We are in need of approximately $41,000.00 to operate in this calendar year. Remember, that we are a volunteer organization. Your donation to the Committee goes directly to promoting the pro-life work of New Hampshire Right to Life.
The goal of the Educational Trust Fund is to be the face of New Hampshire Right to Life in educating and witnessing the Truth that all human life is valuable. The ETF uses money to reach out to and educate the public about life issues, whether it is setting up booths at other organizational events or bringing in speakers and hosting events. Since the beginning of the year, we have hosted and financially supported the March for Life in Concord and a booth at the Women’s Expo in Manchester. Our work of educating continues through our presence at the Knights of Columbus’ Birth Right dinner in February and at the Pro-Life Seminar held at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Manchester. We were present at the 40 Days for Life events this Spring and will again have a booth at the upcoming Soulfest Christian Music Festival in August. The ETF Board—Sister Mary Rose Reedy, DMML, Susan Clifton, RN, and Fr. Christian Tutor, Chairman—has financially committed to the ministry of Rachel’s Vineyard in the healing of post-abortive people. As the 501-c3 of NHRTL, know that any donation to the ETF is tax deductible as you share in our ministry.
In order to change our state laws regarding life issues, we need committed pro-life people to run for seats in our State House, State Senate, Executive Council, as well as for Governor. The Political Action Committee activates pro-life people into running for and attaining political office here in New Hampshire. The PAC uses your donations to endorse and contribute to the campaigns of only those people who believe in and are committed to pro-life legislation with no exceptions. The PAC also holds these elected officials accountable by supporting or opposing legislation and referenda and by providing voters with a voting guide of how each legislator voted in regards to life issues. Your donation to the PAC goes directly to activating pro-life legislators here in New Hampshire.
Remember, New Hampshire Right to Life is one organization with three specific and important branches – the Committee, the Educational Trust Fund (ETF), and the Political Action Committee (PAC). Each branch helps New Hampshire Right to Life to accomplish its mission of fostering respect for human life from the moment of fertilization to natural death and promoting that right to life for everyone. However, we can only accomplish this through the generosity of people like you.
Join us in our mission to promote, educate, and activate by donating today. Please be as generous as possible. Thank you!
