Overview

Since its formation, NH Right to Life has been dedicated to assisting and developing principled and passionate pro-life leaders among New Hampshire’s youth.

Through direct involvement with many community organizations, NH Right to Life has seen first hand the energetic and exceptional leadership of pro-life young adults.

In our continued efforts to recognize and develop pro-life leadership and convictions among New Hampshire’s youth, NH Right to Life is offering “Life Lights” Pro-life Scholarship to two graduating high school seniors. These $500 scholarships will be awarded to two young adults who meet the following requirements, complete the application process, and are chosen by the selection committee. This year, one scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been accepted at a NH College or University (public or private). Another scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been accepted at an out-of-state College or University.

Eligibility

Students must meet the following requirements to be eligible:

  • Are graduating seniors (home schooled students are eligible).
  • Have been accepted at and will be attending a College or University.
  • Have completed the application requirements.
  • Must be a resident of NH.

Application Requirements

  1. Write a short summary of your pro-life activities. Entitle this “Pro-life Involvement”. In this summary, detail pro-life activities in which you have been involved. This might include, but is not limited to, making a pro-life speech in school, attending a hearing concerning, for example, “assisted suicide” legislation, trying to dissuade someone from having an abortion, or attending a pro-life event. This section does not have to be long, but should include enough detail to give the selection committee a good idea of the kind and extent of your pro-life involvement.
  2. Provide two letters of recommendation from adults who are familiar with your pro-life involvement. These persons are to be non-relatives. These references could be written by a pastor, a pro-life leader, a teacher, or some other adult familiar with your pro-life convictions and activities.
  3. To allow for maximum creativity in the process of showing your pro-life dedication, the following are acceptable as submissions: a written essay (500-700 words), creative video on an issue or subject affecting the pro-life movement, an original music/vocal submission, a visual representation in an art medium (sculpture, painting, graphic design). We encourage you to use research data and/or stories, with permission, to illustrate your written points and to accompany your artistic submission. By your submission you are hereby giving NHRTL permission to use your scholarship submission on our website, blog and promotional material. We will always honor your intellectual and artistic property with your name as author and/or creator, but we reserve the right to use the submission at other times in our publications and on social media.

Please be sure to include your name, address, and phone number with your application. The completed application must be postmarked no later than May 1, 2019 and mailed to NH Right to Life, 8 North Main Street, Suite 8, Concord, NH 03301
