NHRTL PAC has produced an NH state-level voter guide available for all pro-life voters who wish to vote their conscience at the polls Tuesday, September 13, 2022. This covers the races for Governor, Executive Council, State Senator and State Representative.
The right to life is the most important right, as without it you can’t enjoy any of the others! It’s for this reason that it is the preeminent issue at the voting booth again this year. Several life-related votes in the legislature came down to a 1 or 2 vote difference! With Roe v. Wade GONE, who we elect in NH matters more.
To find your candidates and districts, check out citizenscount.org/elections. For general voting questions, visit the NH Secretary of State website.
For those looking at the federal races (US Senator, US Congressional Representative), here are some life-related quotes from the candidates in the contested Republican Primaries:
US Senator
- Don Bolduc: “I am pro-life […] I believe all life should be protected.” [candidate site]
- Bruce Fenton: “I am against any new Federal laws on abortion” [candidate site]
- Vikram Mansharamani: “I would be OK with [banning third trimester abortions]” [WMUR]
- Chuck Morse: “I’m a pro-life candidate” [NHPR]
- Kevin Smith: “I have always been a proud pro-life Republican” [candidate site]
US Congress, CD 1
- Tim Baxter: “Tim Baxter is pro-life.” [candidate site]
- Gail Huff Brown: “I support the New Hampshire law, which allows a woman’s choice in the first two trimesters and bans abortion in the third trimester” [NH Journal]
- Karoline Leavitt: “I will be a fearless pro-life advocate to defend the lives of the unborn and speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. I will also fight to codify the Hyde Amendment to guarantee a permanent ban on federal funding and subsidies for abortion. ” [candidate site]
- Matt Mowers: “Matt believes that every life is precious and worth protecting […] Matt will always protect those who cannot protect themselves.” [candidate site]
US Congress, CD 2
- Bob Burns: “I am pro-life […] I would support fetal heartbeat legislation in Congress, and would work to ensure that adoption is supported” [candidate site]
- George Hansel: “I am pro-choice” [WMUR]
- Lily Tang Williams: “We should promote life by supporting American families, caring for the sick and elderly, and working together to reduce abortions.” [candidate site]
Do you have a voting guide for the elections coming in a couple of weeks? I have a friend asking me who to vote for, and I’m wondering if there’s a central list of candidates endorsed by NHRTL at this time. (Is it just “Republicans”? I imagine some Republicans are openly pro-choice.)
