In a joyful celebration of life, the Manchester 40 Days for Life Spring campaign concluded with a baby shower at Ste. Marie Parish on March 30th. A table, decorated in blue and pink, gathered baby items and cash donations for four local pregnancy outreach groups: Birthright, Care Net, Our Place, and Pennacook Pregnancy Center. Individual tables displayed information and representatives spoke on the free services available in support of women and their babies.

Featured speaker was Care Net volunteer, Karen Colageo of Manchester, who has been a post-abortion counselor for Care Net in Massachusetts and New Hampshire for a decade. She opened with “I’m here to speak about abortions, not abortion. Specific events. Private. Emotionally wrenching experiences.”

She shared her own personal journey from having an abortion and the despair of her experience, to having a child that led to her spiritual awakening.

Colageo offers a women’s group a Bible study called “Forgiven and Set Free” which begins the process for each participant’s own journey. She says about her work, “Women need to know their abortions can be forgiven. I’ve seen truly broken women come alive.”

Campaign dates announced

The fall 40 Days for Life Campaign dates are September 23 – November 1, 2015. The on-line vigil calendar will be available for hourly sign-ups about three weeks prior to the start of the campaign.

Would you like to help with the planning of the campaign?

Team meetings will start in July when local campaigns must make the commitment to a prayer vigil. As an all-volunteer group, there are many needs to help: church outreach, phone calling, youth outreach, event organizing, tables at church events, speaking with small church groups, and most importantly praying for the next campaign and the volunteers!

Contact us with questions or to become a member of the team. Send us an email message or call us at 978-226-3240.

Thank you, and may God Bless you!
