New Hampshire Right To Life Files Amicus Brief with US Supreme Court

New Hampshire Right to Life filed an amicus brief today in the case of Food Marketing Institute v. Argus Leader currently pending at the United States Supreme Court. The Food Marketing Institute case concerns Exemption 4 of the Freedom of Information Act, a provision many industries use to shield allegedly confidential commercial information in government contracts. Exemption 4 has been used by the abortion industry to keep how taxpayer dollars are spent in their clinics from coming to light. Jason Hennessey, President of New Hampshire Right to Life, said, “We are hopeful that the Supreme Court will find that Exemption 4 cannot be used to prevent citizens from knowing how the government spends taxpayer dollars.” The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral argument in the case on April 22, 2019 and a decision is expected by the end of June.
