This week is a big week for pro-life bills in Concord. Please try and attend. NH Right to Life supports all the bills below except for HB1328. Public hearings will be in Legislative Office Building (across North State St. from the State House) in room 208.

Tuesday, February 16 2:00PM in LOB 208
HB1623 prohibiting abortion based on genetic abnormality
No person shall intentionally perform or attempt to perform an abortion with knowledge that the pregnant woman is seeking the abortion solely because the unborn child has been diagnosed with either a genetic abnormality or a potential for a genetic abnormality.

Tuesday, February 16 3:00PM in LOB 208
HB1625 relative to banning abortions after viability
Children have been born as early as 21 weeks and 5 days gestation, and as small as 8.6 ounces, and lived healthy, fulfilling lives. It is the purpose of the state of New Hampshire to assert a compelling state interest in protecting the lives of viable unborn children.

Wednesday, February 17 2:00PM in LOB 208
HB1636 prohibiting abortions at or after 20 weeks
Based on the documented risks to women’s health and because the unborn child can feel pain, this bill will prohibit abortions at or after 20 weeks gestation, except in cases of a medical emergency.

Wednesday, February 17 3:00PM in LOB 208
HB1663 relative to the sale of fetal body parts.
This bill prohibits buying, selling, and experimenting on unborn infants or bodily remains resulting from an abortion.

Thursday, February 18 10:00AM in LOB 208
HB1684 prohibiting the use of public funds, employees, and facilities in assisting or performing abortions
This bill prohibits the use of public funds, public employees and public facilities for the purpose of performing or assisting in an abortion which is not necessary to save the life of the mother. The bill also prohibits such funds, employees and facilities to be used to encourage or counsel a woman to have an abortion not necessary to save her life. The bill further requires a second opinion from a licensed physician before any abortion is performed when a mother’s life is deemed to be in danger.

Thursday, February 18 11:00AM in LOB 208
HB1328 limiting pregnancy terminations to pregnancies of 20 weeks or less
This bill establishes the pain-capable unborn child protection act which prevents abortions beyond 20 weeks gestation. However, it excludes a child conceived in rape from this protection. Since children conceived in rape can feel pain as much as any other child, the bill is not able to be supported by NHRTL.
